Aamir Khan’s Six Upcoming Films That Could Make Him the Comeback King

Aamir Khan’s Six Upcoming Films That Could Crown Him the Comeback King

Aamir Khan, known as Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, hasn’t had much luck at the box office lately. Both of his recent big releases  Thugs of Hindostan  and  Laal Singh Chaddha  failed to meet expectations.

While Thugs of Hindostan opened well, it couldn’t recover its massive budget, and Laal Singh Chaddha, despite being a remake of Forrest Gump, turned out to be a box-office disaster. Now, Aamir Khan is carefully planning his grand return.

Here’s a look at the six upcoming projects that could re-establish him as the king of comebacks.

1. Lahore 1947

Aamir Khan is producing Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film is headlined by Sunny Deol and will feature Aamir in a cameo role.

Although his character in the movie remains under wraps, it’s rumored to be significant. Apart from Sunny Deol, the cast includes seasoned actors like Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Abhimanyu Singh, and Karan Deol.

With such a stellar ensemble and Aamir’s involvement, the film is generating significant buzz.

2. Coolie – A South Debut with Rajinikanth

Aamir Khan is all set to make his debut in South Indian cinema with Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. In this action-packed film, Aamir will share screen space with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time.

Aamir’s role, although a cameo, is said to feature an exciting mass-action sequence. Shooting for the film begins on October 15, and big names like Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Sathyaraj are also part of the cast.

3. Happy Patel – A Political Satire

Stand-up comedian Vir Das is working on Happy Patel, which he has written and will direct. Aamir will produce the film and also appear in a cameo.

Rumors suggest that Aamir might play a don in the movie. Interestingly, his nephew Imran Khan is also expected to make a guest appearance in the film. This political satire could offer a refreshing change from mainstream cinema.

4. Sitare Zameen Par – A Sports Drama Remake

Despite Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure, Aamir is venturing into another remake  Sitare Zameen Par.

This movie is based on the 2018 Spanish film Champions, which tells the story of a basketball coach training children with intellectual disabilities.

Aamir will play the coach, marking his return to an emotionally driven role. The film is expected to hit theaters in March 2025.

5. Collaboration with Zoya Akhtar

Zoya Akhtar has narrated an intriguing story to Aamir, which he has liked. However, Aamir is known for his meticulous planning and won’t finalize the project until he’s fully satisfied with the script.

If the collaboration materializes, it will mark an exciting new partnership. The film is currently in development, with Aamir paying close attention to every detail.

6. Chaar Din Ki Chandni – A Light-hearted Comedy

Aamir will reunite with director Rajkumar Santoshi for Chaar Din Ki Chandni, a comedy film. Having previously worked together on the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna,  their collaboration promises great expectations.

Santoshi believes the light-hearted nature of the film perfectly complements Aamir’s versatility and could appeal to a wide audience.

Conclusion

Aamir Khan is gearing up for an exciting comeback with a diverse range of films—spanning drama, action, satire, and comedy.

Whether it’s his collaboration with South Indian cinema or his reunion with trusted filmmakers like Rajkumar Santoshi, these projects hold the potential to restore his box-office reign.

Aamir seems determined to make a mark once again, and these upcoming films might just cement his position as the comeback king of Bollywood.
