Ranbir Kapoor to Star in ‘Dhoom 4’: A Fresh Take on the Iconic Franchise

Aditya Chopra’s Next Big Move: A Break from Spy Universe

Aditya Chopra, the creative mastermind behind YRF Spy Universe, has decided to take a brief hiatus from the spy genre. But this doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from filmmaking.

Instead, Chopra has chosen to return to one of his most successful franchises, Dhoom, with plans for the next installment, Dhoom 4.

Ranbir Kapoor Enters ‘Dhoom 4’ as the Villain

For months, rumors surrounding Dhoom 4 have been swirling. Initially, big names like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar were speculated to be part of the project. However, it’s now confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will be stepping into the spotlight, portraying the villain in Dhoom 4. This news was revealed on the actor’s 2nd birthday, adding excitement to the celebration.

Reports suggest that discussions between Ranbir Kapoor and the filmmakers had been ongoing for quite some time. Sources close to the production say, “Ranbir Kapoor has always been interested in the Dhoom series.

When Ranbir Kapoor heard the basic idea for the fourth film, he was immediately on board, and it’s now confirmed that he will play a significant role.”

YRF Plans to Reboot the Franchise

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor has officially given his nod to the project. Chopra, along with writer Vijay Krishna Acharya, is currently working on finalizing the script.

A source from the production team revealed that YRF is planning to completely reboot the Dhoom franchise. “The studio is considering a fresh take on the series, and Ranbir Kapoor will play a pivotal role.

The rest of the casting will happen soon, but none of the original stars from the previous Dhoom films will return.”

A New Generation of Stars to Play the Cops

It’s also been revealed that Dhoom 4 won’t follow the traditional sequel format. Instead, the movie will be a reboot, with a new story and fresh characters.

The role of the cop duo, which was previously played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, will now be filled by two of today’s top young actors.

Aiming for Global Standards in Action Cinema

The vision for Dhoom 4 is to create a cinematic spectacle that can compete with Hollywood’s biggest action blockbusters.

Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal in this film will mark his 25th movie, and he hopes to make it a defining moment in his career, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

The beloved star, who turned 42 on September 28, has now planned out his career trajectory until 2028. After wrapping up Ramayana Parts 1 and 2, he will dive into Dhoom 4, followed by Animal Park, the anticipated sequel to his hit film Animal.

A Legacy of Thrilling Heists and Star-Studded Villains

The Dhoom series, which began in 2004, has been synonymous with high-octane action and memorable villains. In the first installment, John Abraham took the lead role as the suave thief. Dhoom 2 in 2006 saw Hrithik Roshan play the masterful criminal, while Dhoom 3 in 2013 had Aamir Khan in a double role.

With Dhoom 4, the legacy continues, but with a modern twist. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how Ranbir Kapoor brings his unique flair to the iconic franchise and how the film will set new benchmarks in Indian action cinema.
